Animalism.....and I am not kidding...

Well, the break between jobs really proved to be useful to hit on this book :-)) But not a long break though as well the book is also smalll...just aroung 90 pages, but beleive me it is 90 pages packed with humour and wonderful reading experience. If u ask me it is a must read for every person who adores the politics and the scenes behind the governance in any

country.

I remember the caricature comedy in tamil newspapers and magazines on politicians, but this book is a general verbal caricature on the politics of the world. It all starts in an animal farm where the animals are united by the feeling that humans are misusing them. Then they chase the farm owner guy away and start their own governance ( Engeyo ketta Kural:Communism.... ). Then the book proceeds with the animals meeting time and while, pigs take up the leadership and the management of the farm. They call their governing principle as "animalism". there is betrayal, killings and ego clashes, misuse of power(the incident quoted relating to this is the best one). The over all point made by the story is "How power can corrupt??"

I really did not want to give away the complete plot of the book as it would really bring down the reading enthusiasm. The author ends the book with the satirical comparison of pigs and the top management.I am telling you, you will love the way the book talks about the people management. There are instances in the book that actually relates more to the "Communism" in the world. The way it has been presented, the rich use of words and the sattire you will realise you have been tricked to beleive that communism will always fail.....But seriously, worth a read.A great read actually.

PudhuPettai oduthu...ulla varadha....

( An Average Film viewers Comments..with no appreciation for the technology and focussing only on entertainment)
Finally there is a place in the world where you can take the person u don't like.....Thanks to
Mr.Selva Raghavan and his team for this wonderful way to punish the ppl we hate.
There are expectations in the heart of film viewers for directors like SelvaRaghavan. There are
situations where these ppl also fail to live up to it.Now is the situation with so many movies portraying the dons and the underworld...Movies like kokki,Pattiyal,Thalai Nagaram..actively portray the life of dons...and some movies like pattiyal have done it well too. This probably is a wrong time to have releassed this SelvaRaghava's product.Though an earlier release might not have helped that much for this pettai..:-))).The movie is far from entertainment really far...that u can't even feel entertained at all for the whole...3 hours. If your theatre is far
away..it might be for more time than that.

Story in Brief:
1) Dhanush is "Kokki Kumar" ( Karan u can sue him...for using ur film's name )
2) Kokki Kumar narrates the movie from his cell in the prison( well for those who feel bored already...well there is
more for you to retain the same feeling...) Pavamya Dhanush..."Adhu oru Kana kallam" mudhal..idhe costume.....
3) Kokki kumar has a pathetic childhood...as expected.....(thanks to his dad killing his mom...it adds to it....see you may think.."this guy writes with no mercy"...watch the movie it is a worser show there).
4) KK(remember it is kokki kumar...:-))) runs away from his dad....gets training to be a rowdy..then clears tests becomes the don of Egmore ( actually "nowhere" I should say) ....oops...thats not all..there is sneha and Soniya
Aggarwal parts in between just for Dhanush's relaxation ( if u know wat i mean)...nothing for the viewer anyway.
5)KK enters politics...he can do all his rowdy stuff legally...( "Entering Politics" for any rowdy...gives the rowdy..the same feeling that we get "when we join Google").
6) Learns a lotta lessons..( actually we learn some stuff too..never go to a movie w/o reading a review) and finally kills everybody..including viewers ...and the good part "climax" ( U don't know...how happy I felt when we reached here..)

Comments:
There is nothing much in this section this time....bcos as an average viewer...iam disappointed.there is nothing entertaining..as such..just blood and some wierd jokes....by rowdies...(i must admit...was a little bit appealing in the first half).then there is sneha...in a new dimension...bit entertaining..but she fails in portrayal....the story goes normal...until kk meets sonia aggarwal..( one of his employee's sis) ...and marries her..and in the next scene marries sneha too...(wow...).Some scenes were visually very good like the one where the
camera moves closer to Dhanush and the objects behind him move farther from ur sight.....Kudos to Aravind Krishna..for the visuals....and also the digital camera attempt....vera edhukkachum apply pannirukalaam.....seri vidunga.....

If I remember correctly...all the movies shot with digital camera technology..were not so much entertaining ...correct me If I am wrong in this...be it "Vaanam Vasapadum, Mumbai Express,Mutham and now this pudhupettai"...don know....guys..better choose a gud story first...and later the technology...

Actors:
Dhanusu: It is a film for him actually.....,you will feel bored seeing him throughout ........probably I did....He is not just KK he is a serial killer...he manages to kill u too....with his over acting ...and dialogue delivery...He is a don...of egmore...........and joins politics and becomes MLA..In a few scenes Dhanush really delivers..but fails pathetically in all the stunt sequences.........

Sneha: This is one of the most hyped..things...there is nothing unexpected glamour show from her.....what you see in the trailors..that is all.....u see...in the screens..too....may be a lil more...but her performance when being beaten up...is very good and stays in ur mind...for sometime....

Yuvan - Greak work both with the songs and the BGM..............something that can be appreciated in the film...........but sometime...in a few scenes...BGM did not appeal to the scene though..but great work.

Well, to sum it up...great technical work and spirit but lacks entertainment................But you have to draw your own lines to define " What is entertainment anyway?? "..

Kalaaba Kaadhalan...

KK(Seems to be one lucky formula in Tamil Cinema...Kaadhal Konden,Kana Kanden,King Kong.,even some songs like Kattipudi Kattipudidaa...see KK :-)) there has always been something with that acronym that always leaves some impression
with the audience. One of the first exceptions in the list would be Kallaaba......Let me tell you something positive...the director is one among the set of directors having rare names like Mysskin of ChithiramPesudhadi.. he is Igore of KK.

Gud One from "kadavul Paadhi Mirugam Paadhi in VijayTV" : If someone's wife loves u then u r kalla kaadhalan..If your wife's sister loves you,you are kalaaba kaadhalan.

Story in Brief: It is the remake of Vaali....except double action Ajith is replaced by Renuka Menon and the villi..(Sorry I don know her name ...but she plays Renuka's sister and the villi in the film). Villi character is the counterpart of deaf and dumb Ajith in Vaali. Also in Vaali, the villian Ajith will fall in love with sim long before his bro marries her,but here in this bold story...villi wants to marry her brother-in-law(what a beautiful story...).Imbuttu thaan kadhai.

Screen play flow..
1) The movie begins with the marriage sequence of Aarya and Renuka...( AlaiPayuthey style song runs to cover the marriage and
the initial kasamusa..but coming to the fact..the song could have been better).
2) The HOT newly married couple scenes of Aarya and Renuka Menon...keeps the film going( with a bit of vayatherichal for the
youth male audience)
3) Story loses pace and so the audience start to fell all the more bored after the villi sister makes an entry.
I was watching the movie in b'lore. suddenly Meera Jasmine joins us in the theatre, she sits adjacent to me...oh! my god.I am frozen and they play the movie from the beginning.I am like stunned totally and also she starts a conversation with me about
the film,Arya,Renuka and then sandakozhi also.I really not that verbal to express my mental feelings at that instant. Then suddenly my friend calls me.."Dei padam mudinchiduchu daa...naaye yendhiri.." It was then I realised I have slept through the last half hour of the film ( Enna Kanavudaa saamy...).
Not seen by me part:
4) aarya brings the villis lover from village and gets her married to him and she commits suicide( so would have I, if I had not slept)

comments in general..
Songs: Music director:Niru (ooh one more new name) The marriage song was quite pleasant. The hot "after marriage song" is acceptable in youth targeted Picturisation
standards.Rest of the songs are cigaratte breaks. So don see the movie in a multiplex where u cant come out.The BGM plays throughout the movie and in most of the places it does not reflect the mood in the scene. But,anyway congrats to the new guy and his good efforts. He also deserves one more appluse for the remix of "kalyana Naal Paarka Sollallaama".

Actors
Arya: The producer can give away rewards to anyone if they are able to trace any emotions from his expressions. But he will make a good actor...it..seems he had a good portrayal in Pattiyal...will watch and tell. But let me tell one thing...Some body ask him to stop doing the dubbing himself and start using some dubbing artists.

Renuka Menon: Nothing to perform...except cooperate with Aarya in the hot sequences in the beginning, but later she manages her role with the innocent smile. She was good in the ad that was showed in the break..Maami sonna saami sonna madhiri..:-))

Villi: Good Performance, but not so much with the dialogue delivery...in fact none in the film have done that part well.I heard from my friend that she performed well in the climax.(U know I slept ...rite..)

Igore: Given a good film on terms of camera, but failed in making the screenplay interesting..may be due to budget restriction...but the film is glossy through out...

The most shocking part is that writer Balakumaran wrote such silly dialogues like "Naan nallava Maama ...Oru nallavanukkaage engura nallava...". Last I know they call him "Ezhuthu sidhar".Beleive me he has never performed well in movies except for Baadsha.Remember the stupid dialogues in citizen...all his work.Maybe he has to change thestyle.

Watching it: At your own risk.....

Oru Vilambaram....

I am rather not a great speaker with a great selling point... But I do like watching a lotta commercials recently...... Here, I am listing those that caught my attention...

1) The BAJAJ Avenger...( Feel like God)... : -
The ad begins with the guy saying.. "I forgive my dad, my barber the gal..." with all the background pictures portraying the same.. Read the review in here... REVIEW

2) The latest MENTOS Commercial:-
Here a guy enters a class and thinks the mentos way.....,also the second ad where in the saloon guy covers up his mistake in a witty way... Both videos were mind blowing and very creative indeed.

I did not get any pics to put up in this case... Will put up some pics as soon as I get one ...

Konjam ...Jollu...

Again there is a heroine from kerala to take over the tamil movie male audiences by storm ................ She is the heroine for films like ( chittiram pesudhadi &veyyil by shankar) ...I think I am the first one to blog about her.... Well you have to wait till her movies hit the theatres..... I am telling u really worth waiting....

Chenna Pattanam......Ellam Kattanam.....( Means... At chennai u pay for everything)

I visited the book fair in chennai.Really worth visting once being in chennai.there was a sea of stalls starting from HigginBothams to the Prentice Hall... There were also stalls for Isha Yoga, The Hindu and so on.Beleive me it has a entrance fare of Rs.5 this time ( thats what I meant in the title to mean that is not fair:-)).

There was a very huge crowd ( really surprsingly huge ). I really did not know chennai had such a huge literary crowd buying Vikram Seth's poetry compilation Kudos chennai!!!.Most of the shops did not have any discounts and stuff... So nothing really attractive to a middle class buyer. There was a stock of very rare books also. But overall I feel it din't live the hype that was created.

What I did?
I was looking for some novels. But found that they were the same price even if I buy it other time also, so was just tramping through the stalls looking for nothing..Finally I saw one good book( I had read the review before) " the story of GOOGLE " pricede at RS.595 Oh! My God, the book can be finished in two or three sittings of continual reading. I changed my mind to buy the book, then my friend told me " Machi Y buy books on google...Check he may give it free in Google-Books section". I felt it was a very reasonable comment.
At last after the long walk was over there were some chairs outside we sat there to rest,Little did I know that the chairs were put for some purpose there was a Tamil book release and some subsequent speech. It was good to hear Poets speaking the real language

Finally there were a few shops outside where they sold old books So I just saw the books that were inside being priced at less than half the price inside. I felt I wasted my time inside..
Book Fair:
1) Place for excellent tamil book collection(includes all novels till date and latest books by sujatha)
2) Over priced english books... Sure,Technical books also....
3) old books stalls outside also have a pretty good collection.
4) Also carry cash, no swiping is possible.

Moments : There was one girl(college going, may be) just stepped on my foot and nearly climbed over my legs to buy a book on " Tamil Culture". I thought " M'am where is the culture in your action of climbing on a man:-))"

Book Fair....Fair enough!!!!

It's 2006 BABY...

Happy New Year to one and all ........

Its new year baby....

Yen Peru Aarudaa... Naan Romba Borudaa....

Say Hi to the new hero of Mass Movies Mr.Surya... with all the foul language and the body language of a Chennai based Rowdy and all the homicide activities.Well It was one more chill nite here in Chennai me and my frend saw Aaru in Kamala Theatre( Another nite show that made me feel about wasting time).
I was late and thought I missed some story but after sometime I felt I should not have come... Feelings apart. The movie started very fast proceeded faster but really took time to end. The pace of screenplay is one thing that can be applauded in AAru...........

Story In brief : Aaaru alias Arumugam is a rowdy under " Aashish Vidyarthi.." (God I forgot the name of that character) the portrayal is similar to cheena thaana in Thotti Jaya. Aaru gets betrayed by his boss during one of the assignments and he is not able to tolerate it.
There is so much of stories within this story like Surya's childhood in the boss's house and the "ANNI"\nMalavika taking care of him, Trisha's life...,OK I forgot their love ...(The most horrible portryael of them all).Totally it is Hari's version of Thotti jaya except that Trisha is not Villians daughter.

Songs: People who smoke in between the movie i.e. while at songs and all please avoid the movie as mostly all songs are such kinda breaks mite end up getting cancer... DeviSri Prasath and Hari better cud have taken some more time to give proper tunes.Especially the "Droham ..Droham" one it seems to have copied from the title song of the mega serial "Sorgam". The "Paarkathey " number was a tolerable one.

Actors:
Surya: Aaru should have worked out for him like Gemini did for Vikram but instead it creates a feeling that "Surya has got his wanted flop" ( Seriously I heard some one say this). All\nright he has performed well, but cud have avoided the slang at times. Being\nbrutal does\'nt work for him.At times you get the felling he has over acted at places.

Trisha: Trisha is the heroine better keep that in mind when u see the movie or else u mite end up forgetting that. Thanks to the songs they mite remind u of her at times.

Aishwarya D/o Lakshmi: She is very involved with the film and lived as "sarioja akka" with all the filthy words. The scene where she makes a speech on the stage really haunts you\nand makes u want to leave the theatre, but all right she has not been given\na role that drags the story, thanks to Hari for the same.

Vadivelu: With a pathetic introduction that fails to make u smile even, he scores in some parts, especially the "thakkali chutney " and conversation with aishwarya reg his name.

Wasted Actors: Good performers like Delhi Ganesh has been wasted by being cast in this movie. the way he dies leaves some impression to the watchers.

Stunts: It is the major portion of the film.Surya hits and hits and at times uses Aruva...burns people down and so on. At the end the audience gets a feeling that they are being hit and we got up with some pain.

Finally the ultimate torture was that we returned heome and switched on the TV... Charan spoke in one of the channels that "Hari has given me a successful movie" ....Goyyala was my eaction to it.

Aaru.... Cud have been far better.........
